Mental health is under particular attack in wartime. Given the fact that a large number of civilians who had no combat experience, including psychological training, stood up to defend Ukraine, the consequences of participation in hostilities, prolonged uncertainty, loss of identity, and prolonged separation from family members all bring about significant changes in mental health.
What is psychological rehabilitation for?
Psychological rehabilitation is necessary for both military personnel who have performed combat missions and those who have served without such experience.
In order to prevent traumatic experiences from destroying lives after a veteran returns home, it is necessary to work through and assimilate them.
The Association of Resource Psychology and Psychotherapy, as part of the Molfa Hub, has developed a program of psychological rehabilitation and readaptation for military personnel and veterans.
These are 3, 5 and 10-day offsite retreats that include:
- Individual sessions with psychologists and psychotherapists;
- Group psychotherapy;
- Meditative practices;
- Yoga;
- Practices of working with the body;
- Techniques of deep self-knowledge;
- Hiking routes (if the retreat is in the Carpathians);
- Meals and accommodation.
We also organize family visits to help our defenders adapt to each other with their families after a long separation and cope with the emotions that have accumulated during this time.
Who should undergo psychological rehabilitation and psychological recovery?
This program will be useful for all military personnel and their families, especially:
- if you have received physical injuries or amputations;
- after acubarotrauma (contusion);
- If you have one or more of the following symptoms: insomnia, aggression, apathy, lack of appetite, unwillingness to contact people, feelings of guilt, suicidal thoughts;
- after returning from captivity.
What does this course give you?
- an opportunity to communicate with other soldiers and realize that you are not alone;
- learn to accept your body if it has been damaged;
- learn to monitor and control your emotions;
- restore sleep and improve your emotional state;
- find new strength, meaning and desire to live.
